The Division of Primary Care and Population Health seeks to serve our community through caring, learning, and innovation for the whole person through all stages of life. While engaged in practice and teaching, our faculty are dedicated to establishing new knowledge as the basis for future practice and prevention, and to the greatest extent possible applying that knowledge to improve care for all and reduce health disparities.

Stanford’s Center for Innovation in Global Health (CIGH) envisions a world where everyone lives a healthy life, on a thriving planet. We enable emerging leaders and multidisciplinary researchers to solve global health challenges and improve health equity by providing faculty, staff and students with the resources, knowledge and support needed to create large-scale impact. Leading through research, education, advocacy and community building, our work is focused on three main areas: Human and Planetary Health, Women’s Leadership in Global Health, and Refugees and Vulnerable Populations.

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for candidates with administrative and international program experience interested in joining a collaborative, mission-driven team. The Center for Innovation in Global Health seeks a Program Coordinator to provide administrative, operational and event planning support for the Stanford African Scholars in Global Health (SASH) Program. This new program offers training opportunities at Stanford for physicians from all across Africa. This program will allow African partners to come to Stanford to gain skills in specific clinical or quality improvement areas and then return to their home institution to implement a year-long quality improvement project to improve health outcomes. This program enables Stanford to offer a truly equitable global health education program, expand bilateral opportunities, build African institutional capacity, and engage meaningfully with our international partners. The SASH Program Coordinator will lead administrative support for the SASH Program Manager and other senior members of the CIGH team. This includes prioritizing duties, handling time sensitive requests from multiple staff simultaneously, reaching out to stakeholders and finalizing documents, or contacting the appropriate departments to obtain information and resolve issues. Program Coordinator duties will include coordinating with suppliers on housing, transportation, and meals for the visiting scholars and processing all financial transactions related to the program. Duties will also include coordinating pre-arrival planning and logistics, coordinating and organizing each scholar’s schedule while they are here, making sure to cater each schedule to the individual needs and interests of the scholar. The Program Coordinator will also manage the application and interview process for the program, pending grant renewal in 2026. The Program Coordinator will also lead logistics for events related to the program – in-person events on the Stanford campus, virtual and in-person orientations for scholars and mentors, and a large convening of scholars and mentors to be held in collaboration with a host university in East Africa in late 2026. The Program Coordinator will arrange travel in compliance with University guidance, including complex itineraries and reservations for scholars coming from Africa and for staff traveling to Africa. Other duties related to travel will include collecting and tracking important required program and travel documents and assisting scholars with visa matters. The Program Coordinator will also be expected to provide flexible support to the CIGH team as miscellaneous administrative tasks arise. Knowledge of continuing medical education, program evaluation and/or clinical capacity building is desirable. Organized, detail-oriented, dynamic, and tech-savvy individuals interested in working in a fast-paced, collegial, impact-oriented team are encouraged to apply.
