Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and ten years of increasingly technical work experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- A minimum of ten years of experience as a contributing member of an enterprise-oriented technology team. Strongly preferred in cybersecurity operations and engineering environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Well-rounded, critical thinker.
- Demonstrated growth mindset and desire to make things better.
- Deep knowledge of modern information technology systems and strong interest in cybersecurity.
- Minimum of ten years of operational experience in one or more of these fields: cybersecurity, systems engineering, deployment/automations engineering, endpoint engineering, authentication, log analysis, cloud administration, or network administration.
- Prefer working knowledge of SIEM like Splunk or Elasticsearch.
- Prefer experience in large enterprise security environment and cloud security.
- Python or other software engineering experience is a plus.
- Strong written and oral communications, ability to express complicated, highly technical information using accessible language, proficiently in English, to a wide variety of audiences with varying degrees of technical savviness.

Remote Work
This position is eligible for full-time remote work from the U.S and hybrid within the Bay Area. We maintain a remote-work-friendly environment, fully supporting our full-time-remote and hybrid on-site/remote staff. Our team operates on Pacific Time, and we adjust salary based on regions of the country. You may be expected to come to campus, but generally expect that to be no more than a few days each quarter. This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $161,000 to $206,000 per annum for remote positions.
The expected pay range for this position is $161,000 to $215,489 per annum for hybrid positions.
