DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience installing and configuring desktop computer systems in a networked computing environment, Mac and PC imaging, and in applying diagnostic techniques for problem troubleshooting.
- Experience with enterprise management of print systems, inventory, equipment, and software applications and site licensing and management.
- Experience supporting student technology in residence halls
- Experience supporting classroom technology operations
- Fluency with or ability to learn monitoring and ticket tracking software (e.g. ServiceNow).
- Experience with creating and delivering training (or ability to learn).
- Experience supporting a variety of spaces (classrooms, meeting spaces, laboratories, auditoriums, informal learning spaces, etc.)
- Familiarity with one or more subject areas a plus:
- Media control and monitoring systems, (e.g. Crestron), codecs, switchers, and audio DSPs;
- Video conferencing systems (e.g. Zoom);
- Automated video streaming and capture (Panopto preferred);
- Multi-channel wired and wireless sound systems, assisted listening systems, acoustical standards;
- Specialized equipment for classroom use
- Broad knowledge of wire terminations, troubleshooting and pretesting
- Signal flow
- Network protocols and technologies
- Learning space design
- Pedagogy
- Experience supporting learning environments in higher education preferred.
- Certifications and Licenses: CTS or AQAV CQD a plus.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support a diverse audience.
- Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to apply diagnostic techniques for problem troubleshooting.
- Ability to apply AV/IT best practices, including information security, physical security to problem resolution and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem solving skills in a variety of situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation, bending, lifting, standing, and carrying equipment.
- Occasionally lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 21-40 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, grasp forcefully.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May need to work at heights greater than 10 ft.
- This position will be regularly scheduled to work afternoons/evenings, and may work on-call rotations.
- Travel locally and cross-university.
