The Center for Dissemination and Implementation (CDI), within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, consists of three national centers and numerous addiction and mental health services implementation projects at national, health system, state, county and community levels. CDI’s mission is to advance the science of implementation and improve access to the best treatments available. Stanford University is seeking a Director of Operations/Social Science Research Professional 3 to perform work to support research or develop public programs and policies requiring a high degree of scientific knowledge, and supervise and train less experienced colleagues and provide consultation.
A successful candidate will have: Master’s degree in applicable social science, public health or related field, with 5+ years of work experience; ability to take initiative, solve problems, and handle substantial responsibility; demonstrated ability to successfully juggle and prioritize among multiple projects; prior experience supporting/leading large teams and demonstrated professionalism interacting with key stakeholders; impeccable oral and written communication skills; experience in project management across operations areas including research and scholarly work, communications, program evaluation, and websites; excellence with standard software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and, broad-based content knowledge in addiction or mental health, health services research, and implementation science preferred.
Assist principal investigators with designing experiments constituting a phase of a research project for which precedents are few; conduct experiments that may involve coordinating a complex experimental protocol.
Independently identify/modify standard procedures based on judgment concerning the general goals of a project; select approaches in developing, testing, and evaluating new methods.
Lead or participate in multidisciplinary teams (in academia, across different faculties or schools, and in industry, across different functions of the business).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Graduate degree in an applicable social science related field and five years of applicable experience, within a content area of behavioral health services (addiction and/or mental health).

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $71,137 to $100,488 per annum.
