To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in career coaching, community development, program planning and execution, group facilitation and/or engagement within higher education in support of first- and second-year student efficacy and success.
- Direct experience with planning and managing career-focused programs and services that directly address the integration of diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Understanding that a student development student lifecycle model is integral to career-focused programming and services.
- Understanding and experience with narrative-based career development, career pathing, career exploration and student efficacy.
- Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and all levels of management. Experience with engaging in and managing communication and conversations that include diverse viewpoints and divergent opinions. p
- Strong analytical skills to review and analyze complex financial information.
- Strong leadership and strategic management skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing people, leading and developing cohesive teams, managing performance and productivity.
In addition, preferred requirements include:
- Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field preferred.
- Ability to translate experience with career coaching into managing career coaches and related programs and services in leading an area focused on first- and second-year university students.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment and serve constituents from a wide variety of backgrounds, identities, communities and perspectives.
- Proven record in strategic planning, addressing DEI and intercultural competence, and contributing to organizational leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in employment trends and career development, relationship development, program planning and execution, group facilitation and engagement, and advising campus partners.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics.
- Direct experience with using career-focused research, career interests, career assessments, print, and web resources as a fully developed basis for career coaching.
- Knowledge of trends in career education, internships, employment, economy, technology, and industry networks.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents and using a range of communications including presentations to all levels of management.
- Experience with using technology, social media, and digital communications.
- Experience using Handshake and similar digital career engagement platforms.
