MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with complex multi-system platforms and vendors.
- Experience coordinating multi-system and computing environments in independent computing facilities.
- Experience developing/implementing a business continuation and disaster recovery plan.
- Proven ability to develop appropriate plans to meet computing needs.
- Expert ability to program in multiple programming languages in multiple operating systems.
- Proven ability to lead and work on large/complex system deployment projects in a team environment.
- Advanced knowledge of security trends and best practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work calmly and effectively in pressure situations and manage time effectively in a changing environment, strong conceptual and logical abilities and strong planning and project abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex environments and ability to focus on customer requirements.
- Ability to operate within a collaborative team framework both in the workgroup and across IT Services.
- Ability to creatively apply a unique combination of skills & knowledge to the support and maintenance of the Stanford systems environment
- Must be able to work as an independent, productive, responsible, self-motivated member of operational and project teams, often simultaneously
- Extensive hands-on experience supporting Windows systems in 24 x 7 enterprise environments. Comprehensive understanding of server and networking hardware and infrastructure.
- Understanding and experience with information security in a distributed computing environment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Demonstrated experience supporting a Windows Infrastructure, with strong expertise in Active Directory and email.
- Demonstrated experience supporting a Microsoft Exchange environment (both online and on- prem), Office 365, Code Green, Proofpoint and email infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience managing Windows-based systems and services at scale. Experience with maintaining Linux-based systems and services a plus.
- Ability to automate common system administration and management tasks through Windows Powershell.
- Ability to automate common system administration and management tasks using Terrform for various cloud implementations.
- Experience managing systems via Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and System Center Configuration Manager.
- Comfort with public speaking is a plus. He or she should be able to give a detailed technical presentation.

- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Frequently sitting.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exposed to high voltage electricity, noise >80dB TWA, confined spaces, hot temperatures, heavy metals.
