REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED and previous work experience in voice and data service areas or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic AC and DC circuit theory, including the understanding and use of Ohm’s law and the meaning of various electrical quantities
- A thorough working knowledge of various tools required for installation and maintenance
- Ability to fault locate defects in existing interbuilding/intrabuilding telecommunication facilities employing analysis along with the results obtained from the test equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and isolate wiring and device failures and implement a solution
- Understand testing apparatus to resolve data and network applications
* A valid California driver’s license and a good driving record at all times
* Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 70 lbs. required
Certifications Desired:
- Cisco VoIP
- Fiber: Fluke, Light Brigade or Corning
- BICSI Certification: Installer Level II or higher
- Leviton and Systemax Contractor Connector Certification
- Network training
- AS degree
The expected pay range for this position is $44.55 (Step 11) to $54.00 (Step 20) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
