Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) is the operational core of Stanford University’s physical campus. Position Summary:

The role will work with an experienced Data Architect and Senior Software engineer to support implementation and deployment of various solutions Involving data along with creating the maintenance documents. The role will involve data analysis, Data Visualization and testing. This will also include Executing all programming tasks, including programming, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, modifying, and maintaining computer programs and LBRE IT’s web applications. Work on systems of small to moderate size and complexity or segments of larger systems.

 

Core Duties:

  • Assess user needs and requirements.
  • Design and develop applications that may involve sophisticated data manipulation.
  • Maintain and update existing programs.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • Create programs to meet reporting and analysis needs.
  • Design and implement user and operations training programs.
  • Document changes in software for end users.
  • Follow team software development methodology.
  • Serve as technical resource with respect to applications.
  • Develop and produce dashboards, key performance indicators, and other recognized metrics used to monitor and report organizational performance. Collect and analyze metric data.
  • Collect, manage, and clean datasets using an extraction and reporting programming language to ensure data integrity

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to apply coding experience or quickly learn new languages and tools
  • Experience with relational database design and management is required. Experience implementing database applications for Oracle, or SQL Server is highly desirable. 
  • Basic knowledge and demonstrated experience using and applying analytical software, database management system software, database reporting software, database user interface and query software, and data mining software.
  • You should be able to work in a team environment and follow the software development methodology followed by the LBRE IT group
  • Must have technical computing background in computer systems, server systems (Unix/Linux/Windows) and a general understanding of networking and databases concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Python, Unix, Coldfusion, nodejs, javascript, CSS
  • Basic knowledge of Reporting tools like Tableau, OBIEE, etc.
  • Working understanding of web application technologies (servlets, JSP/JSTL, X/HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax) and web application framework. Must be particularly adept at quickly learning new scripting and programming languages. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
  • Energetic, Creative, Curious and Flexible.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Creating and maintaining documentation in collaborative web-based technology: Google Docs, Sharepoint, Google Sheets, etc.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, writing by hand.
  • Rarely use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

The expected pay range for this position is $113,148 to $137,516 per annum

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
