The Sr. Technical Project Manager is an important position within the Network Engineering Team at Stanford University. Primary responsibilities

  • Lead planning and analysis: As the Sr. Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for spearheading the planning and analysis for complex Network Engineering Programs. Your expertise will be crucial in addressing technical, business, and regulatory challenges, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Manage and direct program development: You will have the opportunity to manage and direct the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of various programs within the Network Engineering Team. This includes monitoring trends, recommending program directions, and resolving complex issues that may span organizational boundaries.
  • Lead outreach strategy: In this position, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of an impactful outreach strategy. This may involve establishing relationships, managing communications, and ensuring compliance, all with the goal of promoting collaboration and engagement with various parties.
  • Financial management: You will be responsible for managing budgets, analyzing finances, and reporting on financial aspects of the Network Engineering programs. Collaborating with other departments, you will play a critical role in developing budgets and plans, ensuring the successful implementation of various initiatives.
  • Evaluate program strengths and weaknesses: As the Sr. Technical Project Manager, you will evaluate and assess the strengths and weaknesses of the Network Engineering programs. This will enable you to make informed decisions and determine areas for improvement, ultimately ensuring the delivery of exceptional results.
  • Organize daily activities: To achieve the organization's goals, you will organize daily activities within the Network Engineering Team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, plus 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience desired. 15 years preferred.
  • Significant experience managing highly technical IT Infrastructure Projects, specifically in the areas of Network, Data Center, Construction activities, and other technical areas.
  • Exceptional communication skills: You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey complex information and ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership abilities: The Sr. Technical Project Manager role demands strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and develop staff, resolve conflicts, and make informed decisions.
  • Proven project management success: You should have a proven track record of successfully implementing projects, demonstrating your ability to effectively manage tasks, schedules, and budgets.
  • Analytical skills: Previous experience in data analysis and budget management will be valuable for this position. As the role involves evaluating program effectiveness and making data-driven decisions, strong analytical skills are essential.
  • Collaborative approach: The ability to establish effective working relationships in a diverse and distributed organization is essential. Your consensus-building skills and customer relationship abilities will be key to your success.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

The expected pay range for this position is $165,000 to $196,000 per annum for on-site/hybrid positions.

The expected pay range for this position is $138,000 to $196,000 per annum for remote positions.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
