Position Description:

Lead the conceptualization, design, implementation, and development of solutions for complex mobile systems and programs, with a focus on the Stanford Mobile iOS application including Swift. Collaborate with various university departments to gather requirements and develop intra-system solutions, ensuring seamless integration with other university systems. Implement sophisticated UI/UX designs using advanced iOS techniques such as multiple CollectionViews and ScrollViews. Integrate backend services using Cloud Services (Firebase and Google Cloud Platform) and implement APIs. Optimize app performance and implement accessibility features for larger text and VoiceOver support. Serve as the technical lead for the iOS development team, mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance. Contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, and implementation. Develop and maintain backend systems and APIs to support mobile application functionality. Lead code reviews, implement best practices, and ensure high code quality across the mobile development team using version control systems including Git and Agile. Collaborate with the Android development team to ensure consistent user experiences across platforms. Drive innovation in mobile application development within the university context. Follow Team software development methodologies and processes including CI/CD pipelines and data security and privacy best practices.

Employment is hybrid requiring 2 days a week at Redwood (SRWC) worksite.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics or related field plus eight years of experience as a software developer or related occupation in software development, or Masters degree in Computer Science, Informatics or related field plus six years of experience in software developer or related occupation in software development.

Must possess three years in each of the following:

  • Swift and iOS frameworks.
  • Mobile UI/UX design principles and implementation.
  • Version control systems including Git, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Developing mobile applications for educational institutions or large organizations. 
  • Working on technical projects individually or in team environments. 
  • Cross-platform mobile development. 
  • CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications. 
  • IaaS backends such as Firebase, Google Cloud Platform, and backend development using JavaScript, including real-time database integration and cloud functions.
  • Performance optimization and memory management for mobile applications.

Must possess experience with data security and privacy best practices in an educational setting.

 

The expected pay for this position is $129,917 to $132,000 per annum.

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
