The Stanford Center for Dissemination and Implementation (CDI) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a full-time hybrid a Social Science Research Professional 2. CDI is a leading center for implementation science that drives the effort to get the best and latest treatments to all patients (https://med.stanford.edu/cdi.html). CDI consists of three national federally funded implementation centers:
●The Center for Dissemination and Implementation At Stanford (C-DIAS), National Institute on Drug Abuse (P50DA05402)
●The Research Adoption Support Center (RASC), National Institutes of Health Healing Addiction Long Term (HEAL) initiative (U2CDA057717)
●The Center for Mental Health Implementation Support (CMHIS), Substance Use and Mental Health Services Administration (H79SM090078).
The SSRP2 will primarily support the RASC, which provides coordination and implementation support for 10 grant projects and two other support centers, all aimed at promoting the synthesize and real-world application of existing data to guide and monitor improvements in service delivery to prevent or treat opioid use disorder (OUD) and pain. The RASC supports the projects in selecting and adopting evidence-based practices for substance use prevention and treatment and pain management; engages stakeholders; conducts rapid-turnaround research; and conducts a formative evaluation of the whole program.The SSRP2 will assist with these tasks, including managing a technical assistance request system, and engaging in qualitative and quantitative research on implementation of effective pain and opioid use disorder treatment. Duties include:
●Assist in designing experiments, exercising independent initiative and judgment gained from completing a variety of high-level assignments, including activities such as defining variables, formulating hypotheses, and selecting subjects, sources of information, or planned and coordinating experimental protocols.
●Adapt and work out the details of new, nonstandard procedures, with the supervisor providing general guidance and suggestions.
●Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques.
●Solve problems and make decisions that affect the direction of the research and result in independent contributions to the overall project.
●Select and apply standard calculations and formulas independently to compile data or process documents; often serve as a resource for research methods and numerical analyses.
●Co-author sections of research publications and regulatory reports as needed.
●Complete project-related administrative and budgetary responsibilities of a limited scope as needed.
●Supervise staff or students as needed, including oversight and instruction on techniques, as well as consultation on project work.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced degree in applicable social science, public health, or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, solve problems, and handle substantial responsibility.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Prior experience leading and supporting large teams and demonstrated professionalism interacting with key stakeholders
• Ability to effectively coordinate and facilitate meetings with a range of individuals, including senior researchers from other institutions
• Experience or interest in learning database management and statistical packages such as R, SAS, SPSS, etc.
• Substantial experience with standard software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to successfully juggle and prioritize among multiple projects.
• Background in mental health and/or substance use.
• Background in dissemination and implementation research.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field and two years applicable experience, or combination of education and experience in an applicable social science.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The expected pay range for this position is $85,376.44 to $99,581.17 per annum.
