MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Education and Experience:

 

·         High School equivalent and 1 year of delivery work experience or a combination of equivalent education and work experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

·         Must be able to understand and follow administrative and operational clerical and other operating procedures involved in the work.

·         Must be detail orientated.

·         Must possess excellent customer service skills.

·         Required to have the ability to prepare packages for shipping according to

·         established procedures.

·         For jobs that include delivery

·         responsibility, an ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C license is required.

·         Ability to obtain and maintain necessary certification to operate Power Industrial Vehicles (PIVs).

·         Ability to use initiative and judgment in applying Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), International Air Transport

·         Association (IATA) regulations, and

·         Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations with regard to the transport of restricted and regulated articles.

·         Restricted or controlled materials are defined under the CFR and IATA and include toxic materials, carcinogens, radioactive materials, poisons, and corrosives. Must be in compliance with export control requirements.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

·         Valid California Non-commercial C Class driver's license.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C driver’s license.

·         Ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects that weigh up to 50 pounds

·         Constantly stand, walk

·         Frequently twist, bend, stoop, squat, perform light/fine grasping

·         Occasionally reach, work above

·         shoulders and grasp forcefully, perform desk-based computer tasks, write by hand, sort and file paperwork or parts May operate power industrial vehicles (PIV) and other hand tools

Working Conditions:

 

·         Required to wear appropriate uniform.

·         May be required to work overtime, evenings and weekends, including

·         Holidays, sometimes in inclement weather conditions.

·         Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

·         When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.

The expected pay range for this position is $34.34 to $41.43 per hour.  Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
