Position Title: Senior Learning Experience Designer

 

Position Description: Uncover the unique teaching and learning needs specific to each course and/or program.  Develop and apply instructional strategies based on learning science and best practice in adult education. Provide pedagogical consultation to faculty and subject matter experts to enhance course design and instructional effectiveness. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with faculty, subject matter experts, and program staff. Design, develop, and implement instructional materials and training programs across various learning modalities. Employ project management techniques working on cross-functional teams to ensure that design and development projects meet requirements for teaching and learning, are scoped properly, and are delivered on schedule. Establish and improve processes for production, post-production, and delivery resources, tools and equipment necessary to develop learning content. Assess and improve instructional design solutions using data analytics, user feedback, and iterative design processes.

 

Hybrid work is required, with onsite work two days a week and telecommuting within the area of intended employment at the employer’s discretion. 

 

Requirements: Masters’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Learning Sciences, or a related field and two years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or a related occupation in instructional design, or a Bachelor’s degree in these fields with seven years of experience.

Must possess two years’ experience with a master’s or seven years’ experience with a bachelor’s in each of the following:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing instructional materials and training programs across various learning modalities.
     
  • Providing pedagogical consultation to faculty and subject matter experts to enhance course design and instructional effectiveness.
     
  • Developing and applying instructional strategies based on learning science and best practices in adult education.
     
  • Coordinating learning management systems (LMS) and integrating educational technologies to support course delivery.
     
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including faculty, instructional designers, and technology specialists, to develop engaging and accessible learning experiences.
     
  • Assessing and improving instructional design solutions using data analytics, user feedback, and iterative design processes.

 

The expected pay for this position is $91,000-$140,994 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
