What You’ll Bring:
Applicants should have related research experience and a desire to enhance expertise in understanding racial stress and trauma, ethnic-racial socialization, and the psychological health of Black adolescents and other youth of color.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor of Arts degree or higher in an applicable social science related field, or combination of education and additional relevant experience in an applicable social science.
Preferred education and experience: The ideal candidate will have experience in community implementation of mental health or wellness interventions, a background and interest in clinical or counseling psychology or in a related field (e.g., developmental psychology, human development and family studies, educational psychology) and two or more years of experience or education post undergraduate degree.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General understanding of scientific theory and methods, typically gained through completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field.
- General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
- Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately and in a timely and efficient manner.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with human study participants.
Desired Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative data management and analysis skills (mixed methods are preferred). Experience or training in one or more programming languages and/or statistical software: R, SPSS, Mplus, SAS.
- We seek applicants with experience in community implementation of mental health or wellness interventions and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills with grant writing and publishing experience preferred.
Working Conditions
May be required to work some non-standard, extended or weekend hours in support of research work.
