DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s Degree in Public Health or related field is preferred.
  2. Interest in infectious disease prevention, drug abuse prevention and control, public health policy, mathematical simulation models, and/or decision science.
  3. Knowledge or experience of literature review, and systematic review and meta-analysis.
  4. Experience working with statistic models or simulation models, statistical software packages, such as R. Experience working with GitHub for version control and public dissemination of code is helpful.
  5. Ability to interpret and summarize data from various sources.  
  6. Experience in data visualization, preparing tables and graphs, and communicating results.
  7. Ability to work across multiple research teams and communicate priorities across diverse groups. Strong oral presentations skills.
  8. Effective written communicator who can write clearly and professionally through scientific reports and other forums.
  9. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite for document creation and sharing, communication, presentations, and reports.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with coworkers, research collaborators, and other staff.
  11. Detail-orientated and excellent organizational skills. Comfortable working independently.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

 

Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field, or combination of education and relevant experience in an applicable social science.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

·        General understanding of scientific theory and methods, typically gained through completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field.

·        General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.

·        Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.

·        Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.

·        Effective oral and written communication skills.

·        Ability to work with human study participants

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

 

·        Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

·        Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts.

·        Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach/work above shoulders, and operates foot and/or hand controls.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
