MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Must have a broad-based scientific and technological background to be able to effectively guide the activities provided by the shared facilities. Hands-on technical and management experience in shared facilities is strongly desired. Advanced degree is desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, methodologies, and resource management principles
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others
- Demonstrated communication skills to persuade, influence, and lead others, including the exchange of complex technical information to gain cooperation, problem resolution, and funding/project approval.
- Outstanding writing and copy-editing skills for public-facing documents and communications
- Exceptional customer relationship and consensus building skills
- Ability to establish effective working relationships in a diverse environment
- Excellent skills in planning and proactive management

- Be very familiar with a wide range of research disciplines, the advanced technology employed by researchers, as well as general operations in shared facilities. Specifically, knowledge of training and education in shared facilities is a must.
- A working understanding of each modality provided to the university through a shared resource, including but not limited to the types of instrumentation, its common and uncommon use cases, recent advances in technical capabilities, and future opportunities for growth.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, seated work, use a telephone and use light/ fine grasping.
- Occasionally write by hand, lift, carry, push pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

The expected pay range for this position is $69,000 to $141,000 per annum.
