This team collaborates closely with various business areas to analyze needs, design and implement tailored solutions, and establish the necessary support mechanisms to ensure long-term success. The HR Technology & Analytics team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst (People/Workforce) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and implementing reports/analytics in Oracle HCM platforms (BIP, OTBI, FDI) across multiple HCM subject areas.

We are open to a remote work or hybrid work arrangement (combination of onsite and work from home) within the United States. The onsite work location is Stanford Redwood City Campus, 505 Broadway, Redwood City, California.

JOB PURPOSE:

Under minimal supervision, perform the most advanced project and analytical work in a wide range of business intelligence activities, focused on enterprise-wide People Analytics, that delivers actionable insights to customers in Stanford University Human Resources and across the University.

CORE DUTIES*:

  • Provide complex analysis and recommendations regarding data management and the design of dashboards and reports; develop interactive queries, dashboards and predictive analytics for central and distributed users in People Analytics topic areas, including but not limited to Oracle HCM areas of Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Core HR, Learning, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Time and Labor.
  • Develop Oracle HCM reporting/analytics specifications and deliverables in Oracle BI Publisher (BIP), Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), and Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI).
  • Develop and deliver compelling data-driven presentations that summarize findings and recommendations for stakeholders such as University HR leaders in various areas (for example, employee relations, talent acquisition) and other groups in the University.
  • Lead and own organization-wide complex business intelligence reporting and analysis initiatives; ensure initiatives directly support the organizational mission and are delivered on schedule and on budget.
  • Lead data stewardship efforts related to HR data.
  • Contribute to People Analytics product development, including delivery strategy across the Oracle HCM system (including OTBI, BIP, FDI) and other data and analytics platforms, such as Tableau.
  • Troubleshoot data and analytics process problems and opportunities for improvement, and coordinate with applicable teams to resolve bottlenecks and performance issues and deliver improvements.
  • Mentor and support the training of new and existing staff in business intelligence design and development.
  • Coordinate the planning, development and presentation of training for users of Oracle HCM and other reporting and analysis.
  • May plan, mentor, coordinate, monitor and review the work of other data and analytics team members during all phases of a project.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Work experience in a quantitative or behavioral science discipline such as data science, economics, industrial/organizational psychology, finance, statistics or engineering.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive background and experience with report and analysis design, including defining and developing reporting/analytics in Oracle HCM platforms (BIP, OTBI, FDI), across multiple HCM subject areas and including complex queries and data models.
  • Experience with one or more Oracle HCM subject areas including Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Core HR, Learning, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Time and Labor.
  • In-depth experience with Oracle HCM data tables/structures.
  • Substantial experience with relational and dimensional data modeling, including with SQL in Oracle HCM reporting and analytics.
  • Extensive experience in data analysis and root cause analysis and proven problem solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; proven presentation experience and comfort with senior management audiences; and effective facilitation skills with diverse groups.
  • Experience with statistical and predictive modeling techniques and their application in People Analytics.
  • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflow.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to understand and apply the data and analytics product development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to review business processes and translate into BI reporting and analysis solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with the application of User Interface and User Experience best practices.
  • Experience with data and analytics platforms beyond Oracle HCM, such as Tableau, Alteryx, Incorta, Python, R, etc. is a plus, as is experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse/Data Lake environments.
  • Experience implementing Oracle HCM and FDI is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sitting.
  • Occasionally stand/walk.
  • Rarely writing by hand; lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

The expected pay range for this position is $105,000 - $158,000 per annum, for remote positions.

The expected pay range for this position is $145,000 - $173,000 per annum, for on-site/hybrid positions.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
