Life Sciences Research Professional 2

1)     Familiarity and experience with bioinformatics analyses related to cell and molecular biology, preferably in oncology, for applications such as RNA-seq, CHIP-seq, and proteomic analyses

2)     Experience in utilizing publicly accessible datasets for data derivation and analysis, and experience with the different relevant tools and platforms for NGS and protein data retrieval and analysis.

3)     Added value: Experience with cell culture, and cell biology techniques (for example: flow cytometry, invasion assays, colony formation assays, transformation, transfection, transduction, etc)

4)     Added value: Experience with basic molecular biology techniques (for example: RNA and DNA analysis, PCR, qRT-PCR, protein analysis)

5)     Well organized and efficient

6)     Works well with others.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):  Master’s degree in a related scientific field, or Bachelor's degree in related scientific field and at least three years of relevant work experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

·       Comprehensive understanding of scientific principles.

·       General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs, databases, and scientific applications.

·       Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

·       Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, grasp lightly, use fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, perform desk-based computer tasks, use telephone, write by hand, lift, carry, push and pull objects weighing over 40 pounds.

·       Occasionally sit, kneel, crawl, reach and work above shoulders, sort and file paperwork or parts.

·       Rarely climb, scrub, sweep, mop, chop and mix or operate hand and foot controls.

·       Must have correctible vision to perform duties of the job.

·       Ability to bend, squat, kneel, stand, reach above shoulder level, and move on hard surfaces for up to eight hours.
