Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Open to remote candidates.
Preferred:
- Strong candidates will also have experience in one or more of the following: program administration, project management, building of technology tools, and policy or design work. Relevant backgrounds may include technology firms or start-ups, government (particularly in a program management role), and management consulting. An understanding of court administration, which could include work as a lawyer, is also useful, but a JD is not required.
- Experience in project management with multiple stakeholders.
- Creativity in solving problems presented in complex systems or organizations, particularly through the use of design thinking.

The Rhode Center on the Legal Profession
Founded in 2008, the Deborah L. Rhode Center on the Legal Profession advances the profession through research, policy and advocacy, teaching, and public programs. It focuses on issues critical to the future of the profession including access to justice, diversity and inclusion, regulation of the bar, modernization of legal services, and lawyer leadership and well-being. The Center’s current work focuses on reforming legal-services regulation to increase innovation and access to justice; understanding and shaping the role of technology in law and lawyering; and protecting consumers and clients in civil litigation.
The Legal Design Lab
The Legal Design Lab is an interdisciplinary project in law and design, working at the intersection of human-centered design, technology, and law to build a new generation of legal products and services. The Lab’s mission is to train a new generation of leaders & innovators in law, research innovation in practice & delivery of legal services, and build new models of legal services. The Lab is headed by Director and Lecturer Margaret Hagan. The bulk of the Lab’s work is project-based and involves partnerships across the Stanford campus and beyond. This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $66,100 to $107,000 per annum.
