Instructor Pedagogy and Programming Specialist

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Master’s degree in Education, Engineering, Humanities, Social Science, Science, and/or Sustainability OR Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
• Two or more academic terms of demonstrated success teaching undergraduates in a college and/or university setting using inclusive, equity-oriented teaching practices.
• Documented training and/or coursework in university pedagogy/teaching.
• Demonstrated interest, experience, and effectiveness working with student, faculty, and staff populations that are highly diverse in terms of, for example, race, language of origin, ethnicity, nationality, religion, first-generation to college, age, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic experience and interests.
• Effective planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills across modalities, interpersonally and in writing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage time to achieve multiple overlapping and distinct tasks and meet short- and long-term deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive approach to communication and to continuous improvement of individual and collaborative processes and products.
• Physical requirements, including:
  • Frequently grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally use a telephone, writing or note taking, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use voice or voice-assisted technology to present information/communicate with others.
  • On-campus mobility, self-propelled or assisted

A description of one course you designed and/or delivered as a primary instructor, including the following five components: 1) the course title; 2) the course learning goals; 3) inclusive, equity-oriented teaching practices you tried or used regularly; 4) student outcomes and how you assessed them; 5) the most significant thing you learned from the instructional experience (200-250 words).
4. A brief description of your motivation, experience, and effectiveness working with student, faculty, and staff populations that are highly diverse (100-250 words).
5. Your first three steps when developing or running a new project. Note that these need not be educational programs, but can be any kind of project, from writing a dissertation to renovating a house to coaching a children’s sports team.
6. The field in which you hold a Master’s degree.
7. Any additional degrees you have received or are currently progressing towards, and the fields they are in.
8. Considering the required and preferred qualifications for the role and what successful candidates will bring (as described in the job description): what experiences or skills have you not yet had a chance to describe above that you believe would enrich your performance in the role? The expected pay range for this position is $68,000 to $99,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
