To be successful in this role you must bring:
- A combination of education, training, and experience performing responsibilities similar to those listed above.
- Prefer five years of relevant experience necessary for landscape maintenance.
- Demonstrate journeyman/foreman level skills and in-depth working knowledge of their trade and related landscape maintenance practices.
- Able to identify diseases, pests, and weeds common to plants and turf grass in California and recommend and coordinate treatments as needed.
- Ability to assess soil conditions and recommend/co-ordinate treatments and amendments as needed.
- Coordinate maintenance programs to include weekly, maintenance, pesticide/herbicide applications, fertilization, and landscape renovations.
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings, schematics, maintenance manuals, and procedures.
- Ability to develop, plan, organize and carry out maintenance programs while continuously monitoring the effectiveness of the program.
- Ability to work under pressure, with limited guidance, to complete programs on time and within the allocated budget.
- Familiar with irrigation systems and have basic knowledge of Maxicom (Centralized Irrigation Computer System)
- Computer literacy including the ability to create spreadsheets, word processing, and email.
- Must have excellent communications skills, think logically, and can work quickly with purpose.
- Excellent customer service
- Must be able to develop and nurture good working relationships with a diverse group of employees.
- Ability to coordinate daily activities including work scheduling, quality assurance, program validation, monitoring of maintenance activities, and supervision of personnel.
- Demonstrated experience working with subcontractors/vendors and demonstrated ability to monitor project activities and ensure compliance with internal/external regulations.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting policies.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ability to conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and communicate those instructions to others.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements*:
- Frequently sitting, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 11-20 pounds.
- Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.

Working Conditions
- Frequently standing, walking/hiking on grass, dirt, and hard surfaces, that can be slippery and/or muddy when wet. The temperature varies greatly based on seasonal conditions.
- Requires 24-hour response availability seven days per week for emergency situations.
- May be exposed to noise > 80dB TWA.
- May working at heights 4 - 10 ft.
