DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Graduate degree in architecture, landscape architecture, planning, or other appropriate specialty and ten plus years of professional experience including managerial experience, or combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate large, complex projects.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving ability.
• Ability to function independently in a number of university-wide planning-administration specialties.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate strong and collaborative internal and external relationships.
• Ability to apply current industry knowledge and technical advances to jobs.
• Verbal, graphic, and oral communication skills to explain design.
• Experience working with varied client groups, government officials, and regulatory agencies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
• Frequently sitting, perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
• Occasionally stand/walk, writing by hand, use a telephone.
• Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), grasp forcefully; twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 21-40 pounds.
• Visual acuity to match colors.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class Driver's license.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Work outdoors: work at heights ≥ ten feet: may do field work, including wading in water, creeks; work on uneven work surfaces; carry building material samples.
