Qualifications:
The work requires a thorough knowledge of practical electrical theory and the ability to construct and read wiring diagrams. These employees must have a working knowledge of the theory of operations of various types of communications systems, motors, illumination systems, power systems, heating appliances and other electrical equipment. Must have knowledge of National Electrical Code & CAL-OSHA Standards on electrical and work safety procedures. This skill level is generally associated with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in the trade.
They must be able to make repairs on all equipment encountered, to diagnose electrical trouble, and to make new installations with a minimum of supervision and technical advice. They must be willing to work in restricted spaces and high places. Electrician Maintenance must be a qualified journey electrician and have work experience in electrical construction (if permitted) and the installation, maintenance, and operations of a wide variety of electrical equipment such as that described above. May need to be able to use a computer in the course of their work. Must possess a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record. Must be available to work overtime and available for callbacks.
