To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. (Minimum ten years of relevant experience for the senior director position.)
  • Website development experience:
      • A proven track record in achieving the organization’s visions, values and programs through developing complex organization websites. Candidates will be asked to provide URLs.
      • Knowledge of technical website development, usability, and accessibility
      • Proficiency in analyzing digital metrics and using insights to drive engagement and traffic.
  • Social media management experience:
      • Responsibility for social media channels for a highly visible organization or company
      • Knowledge of social media trends and advertising
      • Extensive experience developing social media engagement strategies and campaigns.
  • People management and leadership:
      • Experienced people manager, able to motivate, grow and train staff.
      • Prior experience in planning and managing the budget for a functional area
      • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence decision-makers
      • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
      • Demonstrated experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging integrated marketing strategies to achieve goals.
  • Strong marketing management skills and the ability to persuade and influence decision-makers across all levels of an organization.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and leadership skills.
  • Proven people manager, with the ability to motivate, grow and train staff across functions.
  • Prior experience in planning and managing department budget.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to senior managers.
  • Ability to work occasional work on evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week on campus

Please note: candidates should expect to share a portfolio of examples. Additionally, a writing exercise will be a part of the interview process.

 

The expected pay range for the Senior Director position is $184,431 to $218,430 per year and is classified in the M grade. The expected pay range for the Director position is $144,703 to $171,015 per year and is classified in the K grade.

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
