Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years working in an EEO and affirmative action compliance function. Experience in a higher education institution is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Post-graduate education or qualification such as MA, Ph.D. or JD is highly desirable.

 

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding non-discrimination, affirmative action, equal employment opportunity and accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment while simultaneously striking a balance between consistency and, where appropriate, flexibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills with demonstrated ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strategic vision to develop proactive approaches to address stakeholder needs and advance Stanford as a leader in diverse hiring.
  • High-level management and organizational skills necessary to develop, implement and manage University-wide programs and events.
  • Ability to manage, supervise and provide career growth opportunities to reporting employees.
  • Experience in the investigation and resolution of complaints alleging discrimination.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training on all EEO topics.
  • Ability to navigate through issues and circumstances that are ambiguous and uncertain.
  • Excellent time management skills – the ability to advance multiple projects at the same time.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse identities.
  • Understand the importance of contributing to a positive office / team environment, and the desirability of cultivating a fun and constructive culture.
