Stanford University is seeking a Software Developer Associate. Under general supervision, this individual will execute all programming tasks, including programming, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, modifying, and maintaining computer programs. Work on systems of small size and elementary complexity or segments of larger systems under general supervision.
The ideal candidate will be a developer with in-depth Swift or Kotlin experience focusing on developing digital health applications and extending and maintaining the Spezi open-source ecosystem.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years of Swift or Kotlin development experience building server-side and mobile-based software systems.
- Experience in developing Swift-UI or Jetpack Compose-based user interfaces.
- Experience with open-source development and maintaining later Swift or Kotlin-based systems focusing on digital health research.
- Familiarity with interoperability standards, including FHIR, to store, transform, and manipulate mobile health data.
- Experience interfacing with Bluetooth-based connected health devices and the Bluetooth Low Energy stack.
- Experience with the Stanford Spezi ecosystem and building Spezi-based mobile digital health applications.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Familiarity with latest software and design standards.
- Ability to solve logical problems for technical applications.
- Knowledge of and ability to select, adapt, and effectively use programming methods.
- Ability to recognize and recommend needed changes in user and/or operations procedures.
- Basic knowledge of software engineering principles.
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally stand/walk, writing by hand.
- Rarely use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds

The expected pay range for this position is $46.14 to $57.79 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
