MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong capabilities in the following: data mapping, conversion, table structure knowledge, running and analyzing traces, configuration settings, page customizations, security updates, custom coding logics, issues analysis and recommendations, running SQL queries, documentation skills, test scripts development, functional analysis, coordination of user acceptance and sign-off, business process improvement, fit/gap analysis, requirements documentation and process flow charting, presentation of options and solutions facilitation.
  • Strong understanding of the components of web applications.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with minimum direction.
  • Ability to establish effective, ongoing relationships with clients, staff and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work under pressure in high stress situations.

Preferred/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across platforms, including permissions, data integration, and system behavior
  • Familiarity with metadata standards relevant to digital archives (e.g., EAD, Dublin Core, MODS), and how they map across systems
  • Skill in writing lightweight scripts (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate tasks or enhance system workflows
  • Experience gathering user requirements and translating them into system or workflow improvements
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving usability, discovery, and sustainability of digital content systems
  • Experience with digital preservation platforms (e.g., Libsafe, Archivematica, Rosetta)
  • Experience with fixity validation, checksums (SHA-256, MD5), and file integrity monitoring
  • Ability to design and execute metadata transformation workflows (e.g., XSLT,OpenRefine)
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and integration patterns

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sitting.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

The expected pay range for this position is $124,870 to $155,346 per annum. if hybrid.

The expected pay range for this position is $97,290 to $129,655 per annum. if remote. 

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
