DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED or equivalent and one year previous custodial experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Must also have the ability to climb and work from stepladders.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety requirements related to custodial services and tasks is a must.
- Knowledge of cleaning and waxing methods, materials and equipment used in industrial cleaning is desirable, but may be learned on the job.
- Ability to understand work instructions given in English, either verbally or in writing is required. Prior experience in a research animal facility preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, grasp lightly, use fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, perform desk-based computer tasks, use telephone, write by hand.
- Ability to stand and move on hard surfaces for up to eight hours.
- Occasionally lift and handle materials up to 10 pounds
- Rarely carry/pull and/or push up to 50 pounds
- Must have correctible vision to perform duties of the job.
- Position may require repetitive motion.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work occurs in a research laboratory environment. Depending on research, may work in the vicinity of animals, chemicals, gasses, or hazardous materials. Expected to follow all safety requirements and procedures including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if required.

The expected pay range for this position is $25.82(Step 1) - $31.21(Step 10).*
