Content and Digital Engagement Manager, Stanford Live

We are looking for a strategic and creative Content and Digital Engagement Manager to drive the storytelling and content execution across Stanford Live channels. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Sales, this role serves as a partner in implementing the brand’s vision. This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day messaging across digital, social, and print channels, ensuring that our stories connect with audiences and elevate our institutional profile.
In this role, you will:
Execute marketing strategies to meet business objectives.
Implement marketing plans/programs to meet business objectives, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendor partners.
Write, edit and schedule select marketing communications which adhere to communications and brand strategy for a variety of channels (i.e., web, print, email, online).
Oversee organic channels and content for paid social (in-house and with agency support).
Manage the production of print and digital program books in collaboration with the programming department and external writers.
Maintain website content related to storytelling, editorial, and institutional updates.
Partner with photographers, videographers, and freelance contributors to produce high-impact content.
Support public relations strategy in collaboration with external PR partners.
Track and report on engagement and performance metrics to guide content decisions.
Conduct competitive benchmarking and analyze campaign/program/service/event effectiveness used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting.
Assess market opportunities and research market trends.
May plan and execute events to support marketing objectives.
Monitor and oversee product/program budgets to meet program goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Please note that this position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week on campus. This position will work extended or non-standard hours, weekends and holidays based on business needs.
In order to be successful, you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting an inclusive environment.
5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or content strategy, ideally in the arts or B2C lifestyle sector is preferred
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills—with exceptional attention to detail and proofreading
Experience managing social media channels (paid and organic) and collaborating with media or influencer agencies
Deep knowledge of current digital trends, including influencer marketing, social-first storytelling, and audience engagement strategies
Demonstrated creativity in developing multi-channel content that builds brand and community
Familiarity with web content management systems and performance analytics
Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules.
Experience with managing projects
Familiar with market research and data analysis
Creative problem solver
Excellent oral and written skills
Supplemental Qualifications:
Experience with video editing and short-form content production (e.g., Reels, YouTube Shorts)
Background in print production or program publishing
Passion for the performing arts or experience working in an arts/culture environment

The expected pay range for this position is $86,763 - $93,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
