To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree and two years of employment experience in the field of campus recreation/outdoor education or a combination of education and relevant experience in campus recreation/outdoor education
- Demonstrable supervisory experience with a collegiate or commercial climbing gym
- Climbing Wall Instructor Lead certification through the AMGA, PCIA or CWA or ability to obtain this certification within 90 days of employment
- Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification – or ability to attain with 90 days of employment
- Demonstrated ability to create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates our shared humanity.
- Ability to function and communicate effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
- Engagement in AORE, CWA, NIRSA, or other recreation or sport professional associations.

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University.
