To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree and ten years relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Organizational Excellence: Superior ability to exercise judgment, discretion, and initiative in managing multiple broad-impact projects. Success creating processes that accelerate decisions and bring initiatives to closure.
- Relationship Skills: Extensive interpersonal, negotiation and political acumen with the ability to cultivate strong collaborative relationships. Knowledge of protocol and careful attention to detail when handling sensitive topics with members of academia, business, and government.
- Strategic Partnership: Demonstrated ability advising senior executives in advancing policies and proposals. Proven success offering solutions and taking personal ownership of activities that create insights and bandwidth for leadership.
- Clarity: Ability to research, report and facilitate discussion on complex subjects. Able to present data in a manner that enables clear understanding of interests and options. Ability to adjust thinking and facilitate details in emergency situations.
- Institutional Knowledge: Knowledge of policy development and implementation processes in academia, and proven success navigating highly bureaucratic institutions.
- Flexibility: Energy, resilience, and good humor. Flexibility in schedule.
In addition, our preferred requirements include:
- Master's degree, or the equivalent in education and work experience in a university environment.
- Broad working knowledge of Stanford, including direct exposure to Stanford VPUE operations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to transform concepts into actual designs and plans.

About the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE)
For undergraduates, VPUE is the nexus for programs and initiatives that help students define and achieve their intellectual ambitions at Stanford. These include investigative introductory courses taught by esteemed faculty, targeted classes in writing and rhetoric, undergraduate research support, academic advising and mentoring, overseas and off-campus study programs, and undergraduate scholarships and fellowships. For faculty, VPUE serves as a principal conduit for furthering interaction with undergraduates and discovering ways in which working with students can enrich one’s research agenda. VPUE advocates for undergraduate education in collaboration with faculty, departments and schools across Stanford.
