The Wang Lab in the Institute of Immunity, Transplantation, and Infection is seeking a Ph.D.-level, Basic Life Research Scientist with a passion for science and learning. This position is for a 1 year fixed term, with the possibility of renewal.
The Wang Lab uses in vivo and in vitro systems to study how antibodies can modulate viral infections or anti-viral vaccine responses through signaling interactions with Fc gamma receptors (FcγRs). The overarching goal of projects in the Wang lab is to elucidate FcγR pathways that can be harnessed towards the development of enhanced vaccines and therapeutics.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the principal investigator, lab members, and collaborators in an interactive, supportive, and inclusive lab environment.
The BLRS will participate in and lead exciting, fast-paced research in the fields of virology, molecular biology, and immunology. We are searching for someone with deep intellectual curiosity, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion to advance the lab’s projects as a team.
The ideal candidate is a virologist with demonstrated experience in molecular virology, vaccine development and analysis, and genome editing techniques.
The expected pay range for this position is $92,000 to $106,000 per annum. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years since their applicable education, field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity; among other factors.
