Athletics Groundskeeper 1

Minimum Education and Experience Required

• Minimum 1 year experience in turf management, horticulture, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work outside in all types of outside weather conditions 
   
• Ability to withstand extensive standing, walking, pushing and pulling 
   
• Ability to follow job related instructions 
   
• Ability to operate tractors with attachments and mobile and non-mobile mowing equipment

Certificates and Licenses Required

• Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial Class C Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to drive day or night.
   
• Must be able to operate various grounds maintenance equipment
   
• Frequently stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp forcefully and lift/carry/push/pull objects up to 10 pounds. 
   
• Occasionally reach/work above shoulders, light/fine grasping, kneel/crawl, climb and lift/carry/push/pull objects up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions

• May be required to work overtime, early mornings, evenings and weekends, including holidays, sometimes in inclement weather conditions.  
   
• Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, respirator, hearing protection, gloves and hard hats. 
• Required to wear appropriate uniform 
   
• May be exposed to allergens such as dust and pollens and chemicals such as oil, lubricants, pesticides, fertilizers and paint. 
   
• May be exposed to noises greater than 80db. 
   
• May be required to work at heights greater than 4-10 feet.

The expected pay range for this position is $34.06 (step 1) - $41.11 (step 10) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
