The External Education and Mobilization (EE&M) unit is operating within the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability (SDSS) with the mission of achieving impact through external education and knowledge dissemination globally. A key element of that mission is to provide educational programs and courses to a variety of audiences on a broad range of sustainability-related topics
We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Associate Director of Marketing for our external education initiative. This role, reporting to the Associate Dean and collaborating with the Director of Professional Programs, will focus on generating prospects and enrollments for our on-campus, online, and custom enterprise external education courses and programs. As a distinct marketing position within academia, the Associate Director of Marketing will play a vital role in driving success through quantitative metrics linked to enrollment achievements. Additionally, this position will oversee an external marketing agency and manage various vendor relationships to enhance our marketing efforts.
Your Responsibilities will include:
Development of a marketing strategy to support our financial goals and the programs offered through our team.
Development and management of advertising campaigns, including paid social, display and search.
Manage the various social media handles associated with the external education efforts at SDSS
Implementation and management of a new marketing automation platform, including the development and execution of a plan to nurture prospects through the platform.
The creation, development, and distribution of informational content through email and dedicated social media channels to support our marketing efforts, attract followers, and promote our initiatives.
Build a partnership with the SDSS Communications team to leverage public relations channels and opportunities to increase awareness wherever possible.
Build partnerships and engage groups across the school and campus.
Manage vendor relationships.
Support the external education website, including search engine optimization within that site.

To be successful in this position, you will need:
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Previous experience in product, program and/or services marketing.
Ability to drive cross-functional groups toward a common goal.
Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Understands how to implement integrated marketing programs across channels including digital and print.
Experience with market research and data analysis.
Demonstrated problem solver.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
In addition, our preferred qualifications include:
BA/BS degree including concentration in business, marketing, economics and/or psychology.
Demonstrated experience utilizing SEO, SEM, organic social, paid social and marketing automation to generate prospects and customers.
Demand generation experience within the educational marketplace.
Experience using and managing the HubSpot marketing automation platform.

This remote role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $113,895 to $137,766 per annum for the Stanford Work Location.
The expected pay range for this position is $92,561 to $120,420 per annum for all other locations.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
