This position is a one-year fixed term through April 15, 2027 at 75% FTE.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission (UGA) assembles a freshman class of 1,700 students and a transfer class of approximately 25-40 students each year. We strive to build a class that cuts across a number of dimensions to add to a rich and diverse undergraduate educational experience for everyone. We believe that a student body that is both highly qualified and diverse in terms of culture, socioeconomic status, background, work and life experiences, skills and interests Is essential to the educational process and will provide additional contributions and dimensions to the Stanford community.

UGA seeks an Associate Director of Alumni Volunteer Relations who, under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Admission for Alumni Volunteer Relations, will work closely with alumni volunteers, faculty, students, the Office of Development, and other University colleagues to develop, implement, and evaluate activities, programs, and communications that reach, serve, and engage alumni; market, plan, and/or manage all/part of alumni programs, educational opportunities and/or other alumni initiatives; and participate in strategic planning and serve as a representative of the department.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Participating in strategic and long-term planning.
  • Recruiting, training, and overseeing volunteers and volunteer led projects.
  • Evaluating alumni programs and services for customer satisfaction.
  • Working with other departments to identify and implement new markets and develop program strategies.
  • Representing the Outreach Volunteer Alumni Link (OVAL) to internal and external groups regarding business and program activities.
  • Negotiating high level contracts with vendors and overseeing the quality of delivered products and services.
  • Participating in and/or oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost negotiations for alumni events and programs.
  • Managing teams, projects and/or programs that may affect a wide audience.

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent the university 
    professionally both internally and externally.
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience with volunteer development and oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse 
    population groups.
  • Ability to juggle a vast quantity of incoming information, interruptions, and inquiries with a high 
    level of professionalism and tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Proven decision-making skills and the ability to understand and solve complex questions.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial Class C Driver’s License.

 

Physical Requirements*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit.
  • Occasionally grasp forcefully, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts.
  • Ability to drive day or night.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional work on evenings and weekends.
  • May work outdoors.
  • Some local or domestic travel.

The expected pay range for this position is $105,179 - 128,689 per annum. The actual pay will be pro-rated based on the 75% FTE.

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
