Education and Experience (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent the university professionally both internally and externally.
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience with volunteer development and oversight.
- Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse population groups.
- Ability to juggle a vast quantity of incoming information, interruptions, and inquiries with a high level of professionalism and tolerance for ambiguity.
- Proven decision-making skills and the ability to understand and solve complex questions and/or manage sensitive issues.

- Experience in and responsibility for planning, executing, and evaluating programs designed to reach, serve, and engage university constituencies.
- Excellent strategic, organizational, and project management skills, and the ability to simultaneously plan and execute multiple projects.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent management skills, including coaching and developing staff.
- Strong track record as relationship builder and collaborator.
- Strong ability to understand customer needs, show good judgment and diplomacy, and a high tolerance for ambiguity.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated individual who demonstrates accountability, initiative, energy, creativity, and focus in a rapidly changing and intellectually stimulating environment
- A willingness to adapt to changing priorities and to working in a complex, decentralized organization
- Knowledge of Stanford University or experience working in an academic environment
- Familiarity with fundraising and/or donor relations best practices a plus
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid California Non-commercial Class Driver's License.
Working Conditions
- Occasional work on evenings and weekends
- May work outdoors
- Some local or domestic travel
- Hybrid worker arrangement may be considered for candidates with the appropriate background and experience, with a preference for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area. (Not adaptable for fully remote work arrangement.)
Physical Requirements*
- Constantly perform desk-based tasks.
- Frequently stand/walk, sit.
- Occasionally grasp forcefully, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
- Rarely writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license.

Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is $95,000 to $112,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
