Assistant General Manager – Stanford Men’s Basketball

Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager will play a critical role in Stanford Men’s Basketball’s recruiting strategy, talent acquisition, and program operations. Under the direction of the General Manager and in partnership with the Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, this position will oversee key recruiting functions, support the admissions process, manage visit logistics, and contribute to special projects that enhance the program’s efficiency and impact. This is a fixed-term position.

Key Responsibilities:


Recruiting Operations & Elite Camp Management (25%)

  • Support the Assistant to the Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator in leading all facets of Stanford’s Elite Camp
  • Hire camp staff, coordinate logistics with facilities and HR, and oversee camp budgeting
  • Identify top academic-athletic talent and ensure an exceptional camp experience

Admissions & Academic Evaluation (50%)

  • Serve as a key liaison with high school counselors to assess course rigor and build admissions pathways
  • Conduct transcript reviews for NCAA eligibility and support application preparation for prospective student-athletes
  • Co-lead the transcript tracking and recovery process using internal systems and high school networks

Recruiting Communication & Visit Management (10%)

  • Manage recruiting database and create custom face sheets for prospects and families
  • Coordinate recruiting visit logistics, including check-in, food service, transportation, and ticketing
  • Monitor staff communications with recruits via mail, text, and phone, ensuring compliance
  • Facilitate NCAA and ACC recruiting compliance protocols with support from Stanford Compliance Services

Special Projects for the General Manager (15%)

  • Provide high-level support on operational, strategic, and logistical initiatives as directed by the General Manager
  • Assist in cross-functional projects that advance recruiting, team logistics, and program development
  • Represent the basketball program in collaborative efforts with internal departments and external stakeholders

The expected pay range for this position is $75,000-90,000 per annum.
